A LIVE Online photography class suitable for beginner’s who want to develop camera skills and start to develop their creativity! This 10 lesson course will teach you all you need to know about shutter speed and its creative application.

Develop your creative photography is a series of fun assignments designed to teach you all you need to know about shutter speed and much more besides.
10 week course cost £140.00
This Tuesday morning class is for beginner camera users and a great opportunity to get creative while learning some of the unique ways the camera sees.
To get the most out of this course you will need a dslr mirrorless or bridge camera. And a tripod. [If you do NOT already own a tripod, feel free to wait until the course starts and I will be happy to give advice on which type to get once the course begins].
These online session are split into two parts.
The first where the course project is introduced, and photographers who have made similar projects are researched and discussed. The second part of each session is a peer to peer review where student images are discussed and suggestions made for development of the projects.
What you will learn
The Decisive Moment /Frozen moment. How to use the camera shutter to freeze motion. Create dramtic and tense images as you learn how to freeze bursting balloons, thrown balls and create dynamic action pictures. These skills are idea for the budding wild life or sports photographer but can also have terrific results in street photography.
The Ongoing Moment. Learn how to use shutter speeds to blur time and create motion effects. Creatve light trail effects with moving traffic, star trails at night, or add a little bit of motion blur to our street photography to give a sense of “things happening!”
NOT only will you learn how to set the camera to make these effects but you will also learn different creative ways to apply these techniques for a wild variety of outcomes, from “ghost photography” to creating pictures of suspended moments [ where the viewer will want to know what happens net ], light painting, and ICM [Intentional camera movement ] photography for impressionistic and abstract effects.

Why attend my photography courses?
I have over 30 years experience as a photographer and over 10 years as a teacher of photography. My photography courses are designed to develop both camera skills and creative thinking. Encouraging students to develop a photographer’s way of seeing the world and trying to get the camera out of the way of the practise of photography. I firmly believe successful photography is the result of understanding the language of light, colour, composition and storytelling and has little to do with an in depth knowledge of ALL your camera settings.
Each course is written with the enrolled student requirements in mind. The assignments become tailored to student needs as the course progresses to facilitate each student getting the most out rhe course. These courses are NOT simply written and then trotted out year after year. They a bespoke to the group and constantly updated to keep up with current changes in technology and photographic pedagogical thinking.
Above all they are designed to be engaging. creative and fun. Motivating photographers to be their best creative selves and exploring the rich world of photography.
