the body unveiled >>

I am really pleased to be hosting a series of photography studio workshops exploring the body! In partnership with multi award winning photographer Justyna Neryng, the workshops take place in my home town of Brighton on the South Coast of England. You will learn many of the techniques and approaches that I have used over the years to create the images. And Justyna will also be giving insights as to how to get the best from models, and work in a collaborative fashion to get unique insights into the bodies of the people you will be working with.

Date: 20th SEPT 2026 10am to 4pm

Location: Tichborne Photography Studio Brighton BN1 1RU

Cost £250:00 [ Small Group of 4 ]

A Masterclass in Creative Lighting for the Studio Nude

Come join us at Tichborne Studio for an exciting event focused on the art of nude studio photography. We will be joined by two professional models on the day. Our male model will join us for the first session. We will explore how to light the male form, how to accentuate muscle, physique and form. How to compose your figure in the frame of the camera too. There will be top tips on how to work with figure models, how to pose them, how to collaborate to get the best images and the do’s and don’t that must be adhered to when working in this way.

The afternoon session we will  be joined by a female model. This last session will focus on the female form, how to use light to soften contours and to abstract the body into aesthetic forms. Both sessions will focus on the beauty of the human form and teach techniques to avoid erotism and how to focus on respect and positivity

This is a full-day course with an educational focus: as well as being a fun and sociable day, you’ll produce some amazing images and have some new skills in your toolkit!

You’ll be working in a very small group to ensure everyone gets plenty of time creating images with the models and 1 2 1 time with me!

Why attend our workshops?

I have over thirty years studio experience and Justyna is a self taught multi award winning photographer. We invite photographers to explore portraiture through intuition, experimentation, and a fluid approach to lighting. We encourage participants to let go of rigid methods, allowing shoots to evolve naturally, embracing uncertainty, spontaneity, and even occasional failure as part of the creative process. This process is given full technical support throughout. Our intent is that you leave the day having had a fulfilling creative experience and gained the confidence to engage with studio photography in the future. Each workshop balances this intuitive approach with strong technical foundations, covering strobe and constant lighting, composition, and communication with subjects. Throughout the day you will gain plenty of hands on experience and you will be able to develop your confidence in directing and shaping light.
